Who are we?

Computer Help was established May 1997. The focus of the business is to provide excellent quality service. Our mission statement is....

“To be the best computer repair service in New Zealand This service will be speedy, reliable, and friendly, with integrity"

Security

We value your computer security and therefore take these steps (as well as some others)

  • We never keep anyones address in our Address Book. If there was a virus threat in our system then this would make your email address inaccessible to it.

  • Any computer that is stored at the workshop is locked away in our secure storage locker.

  • Your privacy is important to us, and we never reveal any details about you to anyone (except at your request)

  • If a computer must be wiped, then a full backup is done, first. This data is kept for 30 days

What do we believe?

We believe in generosity and as a result we aim to give at least 10% of our profits to Tearfund, Church missions, and other charities every year.

PC RUNNING TOO MUCH?

When most computers start they load anything up to 40 programs! More than half of them are usually not needed. So if you want your computer to go faster then you need to turn off these unneeded programs. But which ones? That, of course, is the tricky part. We have a lot of experience in this area and can sort this out for you- I wouldn't recommend trying this yourself. You may damage the computer. Just give us a quick call- we may even be able to fix this remotely.

AVOID A FIRE AND AVOID $$

Clean Your Power supply

On the back of your computer "box" you'll notice the fan close to where the power plugs in. This fan sucks in dust ALL DAY LONG (Well, at least when the computer is on). So to avoid an unnecessarily blown power supply, stick the vacuum cleaner end onto the fan and suck. Make sure the computer is off! Do this about once every 2 or 3 months, and it's sure to help.
(Don't use a dust buster as they are even more prone to static discharge than a vacuum cleaner, and that's BAD for your computer)
