Why did this happen? A virus is a small
program that is designed by someone to infiltrate
your computer. It can be designed to do anything
the designer wants- from sending out emails
to deleting files.
What repair is required? The repair involves
using an antivirus program to remove the virus.
If the computer is badly infected it may be
necessary to plug your computer into one
of our test machines which is known to be clean
of any virus, to remove the virus.
Once the virus is removed the final, and hardest
step, is to repair the damage it has done. The
amount of time is dependant on what damage it
has done.
What does this mean for me? You may have
lost important files or may have accidentally
leaked important information or documents.
What will the cost be? This depends on
what damage the virus has done.
How can I avoid
this in the future? It is ESSENTIAL to install a good antivirus program. We use
AVG
, because it is thorough and doesn't slow your PC.
