The BEST Computer Upgrade Around

A Solid State Drive is by far the best value for money, bang for your buck upgrade, make-your-computer-faster, you can do for your computer. If you have a laptop or a desktop computer and it’s going a bit slow then you would gain great advantage by doing this upgrade.

Your computer stores information such as your pictures and documents (as well as your operating system and programs – Windows for Microsoft computers and OSX for Apple computers) in its hard drive. Every time you do something, anything, on your computer it uses the hard drive. When you go on the internet it accesses the program from the hard drive, say Google Chrome, and opens it up. When you play a video on YouTube it downloads and plays the video in a temporary location on the drive. Every time you open a picture and edit it, it’s saved on the hard drive.

For many people the hard drive is the slowest part of the computer. This is the part we need to speed up.

What does it involve?

The next step, is to find out what SIZE Solid State Drive (SSD) is needed. Give us a call and arrange for us to have a look at your laptop or desktop to find this out. Note, this upgrade is not available for tablets or phones (iPad, iPhone, Samsung tablet etc).

We then copy the contents of your computer’s hard drive to the SSD. We do this with a process called cloning. As you can imagine your computer looks exactly the same as before…only much faster now!

Costs?

The major factor in determining the cost is the size of drive required. This is typically $140-$230 for about 90% of computer users. There is a reasonable amount of labour involved depending on what type of computer you have. Some laptops are easier than other laptops for us to upgrade. PCs or desktops are all usually fairly straight forward. Typical labour will be $96 but maybe more if you have one of the tricky laptops.

We can do it at your place if you want but there will also be a call-out fee and perhaps a little higher labour as there may be some waiting time.

Conclusion

If you would like your computer to go significantly faster, give Computer Help NZ a call!
